How to improve your mood in 15 mins or less?

Are you currently experiencing a negative mood and just want to reset?! Here are some quick ways that help me instantly. Hopefully they can help you. 

Deep breathing exercise

Deep breathing helps to relieve shortness of breath by preventing air from getting trapped in your lungs and helping you to breathe in more fresh air. It may help you to feel more relaxed and centered.

To do this:

  1. While standing or sitting, draw your elbows back slightly to allow your chest to expand.
  2. Take a deep inhalation through your nose.
  3. Retain your breath for a count of 5.
  4. Slowly release your breath by exhaling through your nose



Smile and/or find a reason to laugh

Smiling elevates our mood. There's a good chance your mood will change for the better. Smiling can trick the body into helping you elevate your mood because the physical act of smiling actually activates neural messaging in your brain.

Take a moment and watch a funny trending video to get a good laugh in. Laughing helps you stay mentally healthy.   It reduces stress and increases energy, enabling you to stay focused and accomplish more.

Mindful Music Break

Take a moment to think about the music in your life. Do you listen to music regularly? What kind of music moves you? Helps you relax? Energizes you? Whether you listen to music all the time or rarely, mindful music listening can help you slow down and be in the moment. This short mindfulness experience can be a useful thing to practice daily.
